Ready for a new My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge?
Meet Sketch #398.

And meet my take on it.

Two starry skies were created on Steel Gray card stock circles with paint
splatters and die cut stars. The little bunny was stamped, colored with Copics
and cut with the matching Die-namics.

A strip of striped paper was adhered to a top folding card and the circles were
adhered over it, per the sketch. I popped up the bunny and finished off the card
with the punny sentiment.

MFT & Friends--August 2018 Release

For this month's MFT & Friends, the Creative Team (and friends!) is sharing
fresh ideas and more inspiration using the August Release.

For my project, I used Fluttering Friends, paired with alcohol inks. I loved teammie
Rachel's card that she shared here, and chose colors similar to hers.

Blue and purple alcohol inks were dropped on Yupo paper and the colors were
moved around with ink blending solution. While it was still "tacky", I placed some
teal colored foil over it and then let the piece dry.

I used the Alcohol Lift Ink and stamped the dragonflies over them, then rubbed off
the ink to let the stamped images show through. I trimmed the piece and adhered it
to a Stone Gray card base.

The two line sentiment was trimmed to create a one line sentiment and stamped
vertically next to the panel. Sequins finished off the card.

CAS(E) this Sketch #284

CAS(E) this Sketch #284 is a retro one from teammie Sam.

Here's my simplified take on it back in May 2014.

And here's what I came up with in 2018--another simplified take.

A butterfly was ink distressed with two colors and spattered lightly with water.

A hexagon shape was cut from wood grain card stock and adhered to a Stone

Gray card base. The butterfly was adhered to the hexagon shape and the

sentiment was stamped on the bottom. Enamel dots finished off the card.

MFT August Just Add Color

For this month's Just Add Color team challenge, I colored my favorite image--
the Pure Innocence ballerina, Tu Tu Sweet.

I knew that I wanted to color her tutu in peach tones (E93, E95) and added
shadows with E11.

And to give her skirt a sheer, sparkly look, I dotted it with a white Gelly
Roll pen. Here's my card using her, in case you missed it.

MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #397

It's Wednesday, and that means a new Wednesday Sketch Challenge!
Here's Sketch #397.

And here's my take on it.

In the Buff and Latté card stock were stamped with a woodgrain stamp and cut with

the rectangle and circular elements from Blueprints 31. A small circle was inked with 

two Distress inks and adhered behind the circle. The hedgehog and butterfly were

popped up on the element and the card was finished off with the sentiment.

MFT August New Product Launch and Release

It's time! You may now purchase My Favorite Things August Release.
All new goodies can be found here in the MFT Store! Before you go, I'd like to
share one more project with you and possibly add to your shopping list. 

Birdie Brown is gearing up for Halloween with the cutest little critters in
Frightfully Sweet.

Her images fit nicely in MFT's cover up Die-namics with small compartments
that make for quick cards. I chose two elements from Blueprints 29 and made
a slightly smaller than A2 sized card.

The critters and candies were stamped, colored with Copics and cut with the matching
Die-namics. The stitched panels were cut from watercolor card stock and I ink distressed
a night time sky. The sentiment was white embossed on the top piece, then all three
pieces were popped back in their respective spaces.

The critters and candies were added on the frame and small stars were added on the sky.
I finished off the card by adding some shine to the candies and pumpkins with Nuvo 
Crystal Glaze--my new favorite product for adding glossy shine!

MFT August Release Countdown Day 1

It's the last day of My Favorite Things August Release Countdown!
All new products will be available for purchase tomorrow, August 7th
at 9PM EST in the MFT Store!

Today I'm sharing a sentiment set that I've always wanted that uses the pronouns
 "we" and "us". From All of Us is perfect for those times when you want to include
someone else or even a group to share in the card/project you've designed.
It's easy peasy now with this sentiment set!

 
I did a ton of masking with the new Cute Cats set and colored one cat as differently
as I could. To dress them up, I added bows and bowties for a festive touch.The two
line sentiment was cut apart and turned into a one line sentiment.

The panel was mounted on a Cement Gray background. Their eyes were enhanced
with a black gel pen and highlights on their noses were added with a white pen.

MFT August Release Countdown Day 2

It's two more sleeps until My Favorite Things August Release! Are your

Today I'm sharing a card using Fluttering Friends--a set of beautiful dragonflies and
butterflies with a card design inspired by the ink distressing queen, Jennifer McGuire.

The dragonflies, butterflies, leaves, and flowers were white embossed on
watercolor card stock and ink distressed in rainbow order. A wonky panel
was popped up over it and I added the two part sentiment. Enamel dots
finished off the card.

MFT August Release Countdown Day 3

Yes, we're halfway until My Favorite Things August Release!
Today I'm sharing this month's Pure Innocence--Tu-Tu Sweet.

She was colored with Copic markers and cut with the matching Die-namics.
I added some details with a white Gelly Roll Pen. The background was ink
distressed and I added the new Captivating Mandala over it. The little ballerina
was popped up over the mandala and the sentiment was stamped below her.
The card was finished off with some Sparkling Clear sequins.

MFT August Release Countdown Day 4

It's Day 4 of My Favorite Things August Release Countdown and today
I'm sharing two projects using the new Puzzle Cover Up Die-namics. 

The puzzle was cut from watercolor card stock and ink distressed with Distress inks
then spattered with water. The pieces were adhered to a Chocolate Brown card base
except for one piece which was left open for the white embossed sentiment.

For my second card, I ink distressed a watercolor panel and spattered water over the
surface. After it was dried, I cut it with the puzzle die, taped the back, and placed the
panel in my Misti. The penguin, tree, flower, and ball were stamped over the panel
and all the pieces were popped up on a card base except for one piece. The sentiment
was white embossed in the space and white highlights were added with a Gelly Roll pen.
