MFT No Place Like Home Card Kit Release

It's time! You may now purchase My Favorite Things January Card Kit in the
MFT Store! It's a versatile kit that can be used for so many occasions--
a housewarming, anniversary or even Valentine's Day.

Today my project is something other than a card--an embroidery hoop
project that would make a thoughtful gift for a new homeowner.

First, I took apart the hoop and stamped the sentiment on patterned paper.

 The inner ring was adhered on the back of the paper, and the excess was

trimmed off and sanded down for a clean finish.

I diecut the house pieces and ink distressed them lightly, then assembled them
over the sentiment. The greenery was cut from green card stock, ink distressed,
 and adhered beneath the house, and I used the same dies for the clouds. Tiny
red hearts were added as a finishing touch.

MFT January Card Kit--No Place LIke Home Day 2

Today I'm sharing another project with the No Place Like Home Card Kit.
Besides the house dies, there's a set of keys and keyholes, and I couldn't
resist making a quick Valentine card.

 

I die cut a heart and a small keyhole in the center of of it. The key was cut from
shiny gold card stock and adhered to the heart. The heart was popped up on a
white panel and I stamped the sentiment underneath.

How cute is that little house? I die cut all the pieces and ink distressed them,
then assembled them on the card. I added a strip of patterned paper on the edge,
and finished off the card with the sweet sentiment.

CAS(E) this Sketch #205

Here's this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #205 by our leader, Chrissy.

And here's my take on it.

Check out the texture from the embossing folder! I went with a Valentine
theme and after embossing the hearts and layering the panels, I finished off
the card with the white embossed sentiment.

There was quite a discussion about this sketch among the design team.

It's Wednesday, and that means it's time for a new MFT Wednesday 
Sketch Challenge. Meet Sketch #316.

And here's how I interpreted the sketch.

I turned the circle element on the sketch into a heart and added the
adorable ellie and banner sentiment. The background is Lined Up Dots
and the card was finished off with a strip of patterned paper and sequins.
