Cards From the Heart Card Drive

Winter Sims is once again organizing her Valentine's Day card drive to send to 

various children's hospitals in the US. Go here to see all the rules and guidelines, 

as well as the list of sponsors and prizes.

Purple Onion Designs is one of the sponsors and Michele is also offering a $25 prize package 

if you link up your Valentine cards on her blog before you send them off to Winter.
She will choose a random winner during the first week of February
and increase the prize to a $50 prize package if the winner used
Purple Onion Designs stamps!

I white embossed a bunch of them and ink distressed in different colors.
A white pigment pen was used to doodle some designs for a bit of fun.

Last year, Winter collected over 3000 cards so let's see

CASual Fridays 86--Long and Short

The current challenge at CASual Fridays is Long and Short--create a CAS card
that has one long side and one short side. Here is my card:

If it looks familiar, it's Amber's card design completely rotated

using cherry blossoms instead of hearts. I imagine this is what it looks like 

when the cherry blossoms start to fall after its glorious display.

Here's my card using three stamps from the new 2013 Hero Arts catalog.

Can you spot them?

I LOVE ink distressing and that's the first thing I thought of doing
when I saw the True Friendship stamp.

I heat embossed the image and ink distressed with Wild Honey
and Picked Raspberry distress inks.

The image was trimmed and mounted to a card base stamped with the new

Pinstripes. Two pieces of "faux" washi tape from Tape Your Message are
taping down the panel to the background. I love that you can create
your own washi tape in custom colors to match your card.

My second card is a quick one using the chalkboard technique.
After white embossing the True Friendship image, I reinked the stamp
in white ink and offset the image a bit. Lastly, I added a pop of color
with a puffy pink heart sticker.
