We're celebrating a quiet Thanksgiving this year since our daughter is recovering from jaw surgery and her jaw is wired shut for the next 5 weeks.

We're thankful that the surgery was successful and she's healing and recuperating so well. We'll have a big celebration when the wires come off and I'll bake another ham for her then.

CASology Guest Designer!

Once again, I'm honored to be guest designing at CASology.
Last week my ORANGE card was chosen as the winner--thank you, Tracey!
--and I received an invitation from Melissa to play along with this week's cue word.

With Thanksgiving approaching, the cue word is GOBBLE
and although there are different ways to interpret the word, I chose the obvious.
A turkey. Paper Smooches My Peeps set allows you to build your own bird,
right down to the little wattle thingy. 

And the self constructed sentiment happens to be my mantra for Thanksgiving.
Some of you know that I'm not a big turkey fan and it's Costco's spiral cut ham
that really makes me happy!

CFC79--Winter Blues

CASual Fridays Challenge #79 is Winter Blues--create a clean and simple project
featuring the color blue. Here's my card which is one of the fastest Christmas cards I've made
and I'm happy with how it turned out.

There are three snowflakes stamped on the card--can you see them?
The third one on the right was a second generation stamping and I added splatters
of watered down ink for the "frost". 

To add to the "blueness" the piece is mounted on some Pool Designer paper
from Hero Arts and the sentiment is also from Hero Arts.

It's a two week challenge because of the Thanksgiving holiday
so you have lots of time to play along.

Little Tangles Challenge #1--Say Hello

There's a new challenge blog called Little Tangles and their inaugural challenge 

is Say Hello--create a project with a "hello" theme. Here's my card using Just Hello 

from Neat and Tangled. 

I was going for a "subway art" look and stamped mostly all of the sentiments 

in different colors of ink. The stars are from Halloween Scene and the faux stitches 

are from a discontinued set. Did I succeed?

Fanfare Christmas tree

I'm a big fan of Avery Elle's Fanfare stamp set, especially the cool wave border. 

I wanted to try another Christmas tree since the PTI die was still on my craft desk. 

The tree turned out exactly as I envisioned it. Love when that happens!

 The border stamp was inked in several shades of green ink and stamped on
white cardstock. After die cutting the tree, some pearls and gems were added
and the Hero Arts sentiment was also stamped in green. That's a lot of greenness!

I'm  happy to chalk up another card for Vera's card drive, and may crank out a
few more of these since it was so quick and easy!
