ABNH--Tag! You're It!

Challenge #12 at A Blog Named Hero is to incorporate a tag into your card or project.

I love making tags. Love that you can scribble a message on the back and tie them to a gift, or just attach them to a card.

Several months ago, I won Hero Arts' Square Pattern background stamp from Cheiron and decided to--finally!--use it for my tags.

After inking it with white pigment ink, I stamped it on kraft cardstock and cut out tag shapes.

The flowers were embossed in white and ink distressed with Distress inks, trimmed and adhered with dimensional tape.

The Heydey Sentiments were stamped with Archival ink and I tied on some contrasting rayon seam binding that I dyed myself.

And I learned something new today: While it bleeds like crazy with Copics,
Georgia-Pacific's inexpensive white cardstock from WalMart ink distresses beautifully!

CFC70--Black & White + One

CASual Fridays #70 is to use black and white plus one color on your clean and simple card. Here's my take on the challenge.

I used all Paper Smooches stamps for my card. I love how you can mix and match the critters and accessories from different stamp sets and that's just what I did.

The sunglasses were colored with Copics and although you can't see it, I applied some sheen to the lenses with a glittery Spica pen. After trimming them out, I adhered it to the bird with some dimensional tape. One corner of the card was rounded off and a bit of yellow twine was tied to the card.

Trendy Hexagons

The latest challenge at Simon Say Stamp is We're So Trendy--to use neon, hexagons, or chevrons on your card. I decided to go with hexagons with a bit of neon thrown in and created a simple one layer card.

The hexagon border from Paper Smooches was stamped on some kraft cardstock and colored with Prismacolor pencils. I chose some colors that have a fluorescent look when colored on kraft. The sentiment is also from Paper Smooches.
