CAS(E) this Sketch #264

Chrissy brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #264.

Here's my take on it. I went the easy route with my stash of neglected washi tape.

I tore off three different designs and adhered them to a white card base, then
went with a fun sentiment from My Favorite Things. Done! Probably the
fastest card I've ever made, ever. It took me longer to stamp the washi tape
which has a pretty slick surface--Archival ink for the win!

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of my creative teammates
interpreted the sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday
March 29th and as the weekly winner, you'll be invited to guest with us on
a future sketch! Hope to see you in the gallery!

A Valentine Banner

I thoroughly enjoyed Clean and Simple Card Making 2 and it's not just because
I was a guest designer. I'm loving a more CAS approach to card making
and this session was so comfortable and stress free.
And I actually looked forward to homework!

Day 9 was about adding texture to your cards. I used Papertrey Ink's
woodgrain impression plate as the base for the washi tape Valentine banner.

Since there's already a sentiment on one of the pennants,
I didn't think one was necessary and let the banner speak for itself.
I even managed to punch out a heart this time.

And just under the wire, I'll be entering Play Date Cafe's Challenge #168
since I see some Cranberry, Raspberry, and Petal on those pennants.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week!

Bonus Day Homework and an Itty Bitty

Bonus Day at Clean and Simple Card Making 2 was all about dies.
Some amazing projects were shared that inspired me to play with Papertrey Ink's
alpha dies and some washi tape. Here's my homework.

After taping some washi tape on a panel I die cut the word "hello", making sure
to save the little pieces from the "e" and "o". I mounted the panel to a kraft
card base with dimensional tape and added the inside portion of the letters.
The lavender butterfly was punched out of washi tape on cardstock.

The letters that were die cut were too pretty to throw away
so I adhered them to a 3x6" piece of kraft cardstock and scribbled in "friend"
with a white pigment pen. I added the leftover butterflies, punched out some
washi tape hearts and drew in faux stitching with a white pigment pen.

I'll be entering this at Moxie Fab World's Make an Itty Bitty Card challenge.
Here's a shot of the itty bitty and its biggy.
The finished size is 3 x 3".

Thanks for stopping by!

A washi Christmas tree

Paper Crafts November 2012 Challenge is to use washi tape on your project and
I wanted to join in and dehoard my stash of tapes.

After covering a piece of cardstock with different shades of green washi tape,
I diecut PTI's christmas tree and attached it to kraft cardstock that was stamped with
Hero Arts' woodgrain stamp. I added a few gems, a washi tape star, and the sentiment
is from Paper Smooches.

I entered this just under the wire--tomorrow is the deadline!

Put a Stamp on It 2

Here's another card I'm linking up to Simon Says Stamp's Put a Stamp on It challenge to use washi on your card. I based my card on a layout that Amy Tan shared in a Washi Workshop that I took a few months ago.

I layered a rainbow pattern of tapes across the front of a card and stamped a sentiment with Archival ink. A butterfly was die cut and put back in the negative space after placing a scrap piece of cardstock behind it so the butterfly had a place to sit.

I pulled up the butterfly's wings and added a few pearls to the body. When the card was done, I realized the only stamp I used was a sentiment, but I did indeed "put a stamp on it".

After playing with so much washi tape, I'm off to shop and restock my depleting inventory. I hope you have a crafty weekend!
