CASE Study 4th Anniversary Blog Hop--Week #2

It's the second week of CASE Study's 4th Anniversary Blog Hop!
Visit this week's blogs and comment to win some awesome prizes.

This year, I'm honored to be a part of the fun, since I was invited to be a Muse
back in January. That was such a fun experience--having the design team and friends
CASE some cards that I designed. So.much.fun!

The theme of the hop is "inspiration" and here's how I was inspired.
By some colorful cards by my AEI♥U teammate Yana Smakula.
Check these out. And they're one layered beauties, too!

             Cards by Yana Smakula

I followed Yana's awesome tutorial here, and used a circle stamp from Simon Says Stamp
together with Hero Arts' mid tone inks and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink.

It's not perfect stamping--see the white "holes"?--and the gemstones
are supposed to distract you. (Wink!)

Here's the list of this week's blogs to visit. To be eligible for the prizes,
please be sure to leave a comment on ALL blogs by Tuesday, August 19th.

Cindy Lee
Kristii Lockart
Sarah Martina Parker

CASE-ing Wida

I finally found some time to play along with CASE Study Challenge
since their Muse for the month is Ms. Beachorado, Wida Miller.

Here is her fun card.

It's so Wida.
Fun embellies, cute papers.
And here's what I came up with.

I was going for a card with fun embellies in happy colors.
And splatters. It had to have splatters.

I'm also pretty stingy with that woodgrain texture card stock,
but went "all out" for Wida. Did I capture the spirit of her card? I hope so!

Thanks for stopping by today.

(ETA: My card won Top 3 at CASE Study!)

CASE Study #176

I hope you'll join me in my final week as guest Muse over at CASE Study Challenge.

Here's my take on the original card.

I was inspired by the pink and gold combo. I inked up the French Pastry Doily
with Picked Raspberry only slightly for the vellumy feel, and adhered it to the card base
off center for a bit of interest. Part of the sentiment was gold embossed and die cut.
Gold sequins and a rounded off corner finished the card.

I hope you'll find some time to join the challenge and visit CASE Study
to see how the rest of the design team interpreted the card.

Big thanks to Chupa for the Muse honor this month. It's been such a fun ride
and I can't believe it's come to an end--the month just few by!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll be inspired to play along!

CASE Study #175

It's a new week and time for another CASE Study Challenge!
I can't begin to tell you what a thrill it is being January's Muse and seeing all
the fun and creative takes on my cards. It just blows me away!

Here's my super simplified take on the original card.

I used the gorgeous washi tape (Thank you, Alice!) that was my inspiration for
the original card, to ground the sentiment. I stamped and gold embossed random dots
and added a bit of gold to the bottom of the "hello" along with a few gold sequins.
Can you tell I'm loving the gold trend?

I hope you'll play along this week, and don't forget to stop by CASE Study
to see how the design team, and guest designer Erin, worked their magic.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
