Hero Arts Birthday Challenge

There's a Birthday Challenge happening at Hero Arts with several different themes.

I chose to use Metallic on my card and here it is, with inspiration from Laura Bassen.

Following Laura's tutorial, I die cut the Triangle Background from chocolate brown,

pink, green, and gold card stock. I used one piece as a stencil and puzzle pieced

random colors inside each triangle. Using a Quick Stik made it a breeze!

I finished off the card by adding a gold embossed sentiment and a few gold sequins.

Isn't it a fun one? Are you stumped? I was!
Then I thought about using a stencil and it came together quickly.

I used one by Ronda Palazzari and inked just a portion of it, then stamped
the sentiment and added a few sequins. Quick and easy peasy.
The thought process may have taken longer than the actual completion!

The card is reminiscent of CASE Study Challenge 176, 

(which was CAS(E) this Sketch 50) and I inked under the chrysanthemum die
to give it more depth. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.

Cure for the Monday Blues #3

How do you feel about Mondays? If you answered "Blah", then 

check out Taheerah's challenge--CURE FOR THE MONDAY BLUES.

I found some time to play along in Challenge #3. I love the patterns and pops of color.

 

Here's my take on the photo.

I was inspired by the ikat and the feathers on the throw so I inked up

Avery Elle's Ikat border and chose three feathers from my stash.

I white embossed the sentiment because I like the Dymo label look that I've been seeing 

from Aga and Tasnim, and I'm too lazy to look for my little gizmo.

It's an excellent cure for the Monday blues....or any day of the week.
