CASology Week 31--RED

This week's cue word at CASology is RED. So appropriate for Valentine week.
And here's my card.

All images and sentiments are from Like Your Style--the stamp set that's included
in the February 2013 Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp.

The dress was colored with Copics and I added some dots
with a white pigment pen.
I love how this turned out--a fun and sassy card.

Thanks for visiting today!

A Valentine Banner

I thoroughly enjoyed Clean and Simple Card Making 2 and it's not just because
I was a guest designer. I'm loving a more CAS approach to card making
and this session was so comfortable and stress free.
And I actually looked forward to homework!

Day 9 was about adding texture to your cards. I used Papertrey Ink's
woodgrain impression plate as the base for the washi tape Valentine banner.

Since there's already a sentiment on one of the pennants,
I didn't think one was necessary and let the banner speak for itself.
I even managed to punch out a heart this time.

And just under the wire, I'll be entering Play Date Cafe's Challenge #168
since I see some Cranberry, Raspberry, and Petal on those pennants.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week!

Homework Catch Up

I've fallen a little behind on my homework for Clean and Simple Card Making 2.
Here are a couple of cards that I made for Day 8.

Guest designer Laura Bassen shared her tips to create a successful
plaid background. Don't look too hard at mine.
It's "faux" plaid as I may have goofed up the color pattern along the way.

After I trimmed off the piece, I kinda sorta liked the part that I was going to throw away.
And I thought of the perfect stamp set and made a second card.
Granted it's a little weird, but I was being resourceful.
And you can still see part of the plaid pattern.

You can still register for Clean and Simple Card Making 2 or any of the other
Online Card Classes and have full lifetime access to the series.

lo♥e & THANKS

It's week 2 and I'm happy to report that I'm keeping up with the homework
Here's a card for Day 6 with my take on a sketch provided by Kristina.

I finally got a chance to ink up the new Tweed Background from Hero Arts
and I love the subtle texture from the white embossing.

For Day 7,  I stamped some small alphabets in different colors, and cascaded
the word THANKS. This one layer card was a lot of fun to create and
I have a few more ideas to try this with other small images.

It's been fun to peruse the Gallery and see what others have done.
There are so many creative stampers sharing their inspiring work.
