CASology Week #361--Guest Designer

I have the honor of guesting for this week's CASology challenge since my card 

was chosen as the BRANCH winner for week #358. Thank you, Melissa!

Here's the cue word for this week--just in time for Valentine's Day.

And here's my take on the cue word.

I stamped the adorable hedgie off center on a white card base and colored
her with Copic markers. I white embossed the sentiment on the balloon,
 added a few clouds, then rounded off the bottom corners.

By using one main image and placing it off center, this gives the illusion of
more white space, even with the addition of die cut clouds.

CAS(E) this Sketch #357

Teammie Brian brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch.
Meet Sketch #357.

And here's my not so CAS take on it.

Six strips of 3/4" white card stock was doubled up to form three strips that
were adhered to a white card base. The Memory Box wreath was cut twice
from white card stock. One wreath was inked with green inks and the
second was colored in, then layered over the green wreath.

The layered wreath was adhered to the card base and finished off with the
sentiment stamped in the center of the wreath.

CAS(E) this Sketch #356--You Add Color to My Life

Chrissy brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch. Meet Sketch #356.
How fun is that?

And here's my take on the sketch.

Originally I planned to have bands of color like the sketch but then I got lazy

and just masked off a portion of the card with painter's tape and ink distressed

in rainbow order, overlapping the colors. After spattering some water and letting

it dry, I stamped the sentiment and added a few sparkling clear sequins, then
adhered the panel to a kraft card base.

SSS Wednesday Challenge--Use a STENCIL

I'm joining the latest Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge to use a STENCIL. 
Since I just received some Altenew goodies, I thought I'd break them in for the new year.

I used Altenew's City Scene Stencil and inked the skyscraper side in rainbow
order. I stamped the sentiment, then ran the card through my Big Shot with the
Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover Die for a bit of texture.

I added a strip of striped patterned paper and called it done. Thanks for

CAS(E) this Sketch #355--You Got This

This week's CAS(E) this Sketch is a retro one from former teammate Sam.

This was my take on it back in 2016.

And here's my updated version.

I substituted Altenew's Mega Alphabet U--covered with their floral washi tape--
for the rectangular element on the sketch. White paint was spattered on a kraft
card base then topped with the U.

A bloom was fussy cut from the same washi tape and popped up over the U.
A white embossed sentiment and rounded right corner finished off the card.
And at the last minute, I scored a few lines on the top of the card for balance.

CASology #359--REPEAT

I'm joining CASology this week with the cue word REPEAT.

And here's my pretty straight forward card.

This card came together in about 5 minutes. Using the MISTI, I stamped the 

"thanks" once with Versafine Clair Onyx Black, then moved the card up 1/2" 

and did some second generation stamping. Moved it up another 1/2", "huffed" 

on the stamp to reactivate the ink, and I was quite pleased with the opacity. 

I stamped the second part of the sentiment in red ink, and even found a small 

heart in my stash. I thought about leaving it as is but added the strip of patterned 

paper to balance out the card, then called it done. 

It feels like a belated Christmas for me as I "discover" stamps and dies that

I bought a while ago (or were gifted to me!) and I'm finding time to play with.

Paper Smooches Challenge--Anything Cold

Paper Smooches' newest snowmen--Winter Greetings--are thee cutest!
I decided to enter their latest bi-monthly challenge with the theme:

An older set of snowflakes was white embossed on watercolor card stock and

ink distressed with several colors of Hero Arts' Reactive inks. To add more depth

to the background, I stamped a few snowflakes with the same inks then cut out

the panel and adhered it to a white card base.

The snowman was stamped, colored with Copic markers, then cut with the 

matching dies. He was popped up on the card and grounded with Copics. The card 

was finished off with the stamped sentiment. Oh, and it's not easy to see in the pic, 

but he has a shiny nose thanks to some Nuvo Crystal Glaze.

CAS(E) this Sketch #354

Hello! Ready for a new CAS(E) this Sketch? Here's Sketch #354, a little
something from yours truly.

And here's my simplified take on it.

I white embossed You Have the Biggest Heart on watercolor card stock, then
ink distressed bands of color across the sentiment. I die cut the image with
a stitched rectangle die. A piece of striped diagonal paper was adhered to
gray card stock then popped up with the stamped panel.

Memory Box Challenge #57--Friendship

I treated myself to some Memory Box dies for Christmas and decided use them
in their latest challenge with a Friendship theme.

The bottom layer of the leaves were colored with a combination of Zigs and Distress
inks, and the outlines were cut from gold card stock. Wonky stitching was dry embossed
on a card base then topped with the leaves and gold embossed sentiment. The card was
finished off with small gold sequins.

I love these leaf dies and I know I'll be using them again. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy New Year to you! CAS(E) this Sketch is ready to bring you even more

Teammie Brian starts us off with this one. Meet Sketch #353.

And here's my simplified take on it, because I wanted to use Hero Arts' 
Nautilus die.

The die appears to be a crosswise cut of a nautilus shell. I amped up the colors
after seeing this print on Pinterest. After assembling the die cut pieces, I adhered it 
to an embossed and spattered card base, then finished off with a gold embossed
sentiment and a sprinkling of gold sequins .
