MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #451

Here's this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #451.

And here's my take on it, rotating the sketch 90° clockwise.

I cut four rectangles from white card stock then cut the acronym for "Thank You
Very Much" from each one. After ink distressing each letter, they were popped back
into their respective space. They were adhered to a Grout Gray card base and the
second part of the sentiment was added beneath. Enamel dots finished off the card.

of a $50 MFT gift voucher when you join us for the challenge!

MFT Say It in Starburst Card Kit Release

It's time! MFT's Say It in a Starburst Card Kit is now on sale in the MFT Store!

I have one more project to share with you to show you the versatility of the kit
by turning the Starburst into a vibrant sun.

I used the Circle Extraordinaire Stencil and inked the circle with Distress inks
onto a white card base, then stamped the Starburst over it in Delicata Gold ink.
Our Town was cut from white card stock and a strip of green striped patterned
paper was adhered over it.

I popped up the houses on the bottom of the card then added the gold embossed
sentiment. Small gold sequins were added to balance out the card.

MFT Say It in a Starburst Card Kit Day 2

Here's more inspiration for you using MFT's Say It in a Starburst Card Kit. This
versatile kit will go on sale tomorrow, August 20th at 10AM EST in the MFT Store!

Today I'm sharing a card using the Starburst Die-namics, Say It in a Starburst Stamp
Set, and this month's Card Kit "free with $60" Die-namics--Starburst Sentiment Strips.

The radiating rays on the Starburst Die-namics cuts through the card stock but
I wanted them to remain intact so I used a Circle Die-namics to cut out a single piece.
I ink distressed the circle in rainbow order, with heavy pressure, then flicked on
some water.

I chose a sentiment and white embossed it on black card stock and cut it with
the sentiment strip Die-namics. The piece was adhered to a Grout Gray card base,
topped with the sentiment strip and finished off with Sparkling Clear sequins.

Any sentiment in the set would work with the gender neutral design. And you
can't go wrong with rainbows, too.

Visit today's Card Kit post on the MFT blog and leave a comment there for a chance
to win a $25 MFT gift voucher. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for Release Day!

MFT August 2019 Card Kit--Say It in a Starburst

Are you ready to meet this month's MFT Card Kit?
At first look, Say It in a Starburst has very simple elements, but once you start
"playing" with the kit, you'll see that the design possibilities are ENDLESS!

Here's a look at the kit. Visit today's Card Kit post for a detailed description of
the kit's contents.

Here's my project with products that I used from the kit shown in bold type.

I placed the Circle Extraordinaire Stencil on white card stock, then inked it
with several colors of Distress inks in rainbow order. I dried it with a heat gun
before using embossing powder over the surface. I stamped the Starburst
pattern from Say It in a Starburst stamp set with Versamark ink, then
gold embossed it.

I gold embossed the sentiment which fit perfectly in the space. I adhered a few
stars which were cut from gold glitter card stock, then adhered the panel over
a Natural card base.

Say It in a Starburst Card Kit will go on sale Tuesday, August 20th at 4am.
Visit the MFT blog for more inspiration and Card Kit ideas and don't forget to

MFT August Birthday Project Challenge--Gift Cards

Choosing a gift card your recipient will appreciate serves the dual purpose of
easing the stress of shopping and allows the recipient the joy of selecting the
perfect gift As a cardmaker, the presentation is just as thoughtful as the
gift itself. Join our team in sharing creative ideas for housing gift cards
in your card design.

I decided to use MFT's Slider Surprise Die-namics that hides a gift card
and was surprisingly simple to construct thanks to Stephanie's video.

After die-cutting the slider pieces from white card stock, I stenciled a wavy
ocean pattern over it and added a sandy bottom. An assortment of fish were
white embossed and inked with Distress inks then die cut with the matching
Die-namics. The slider panel was assembled behind and the sentiment and "pull"
were stamped on the respective

I pulled on the mechanism and added the gift card inside, using a small glue dot
to keep it in place. The bottom looked a little plain so I added the seaweed and coral,
making sure not to interfere with the slider.

Visit today's post at My Favorite Things for all the details on how you can be
the random winner of a $50 MFT gift voucher. We're looking forward to seeing
your birthday gift card presentation ideas!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #450

Are you ready for this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge?
Here's Sketch #450.

And here's how I interpreted the sketch.

I stenciled a brick background then cut out a wonky stitched rectangle
and adhered it to a gray card base. I popped up the handsome chef, and
finished off the card with the banner sentiment.

MFT August Vault Release Day 2

My second project for the August Vault Release uses the All Star High Top Die-namics.
I was SO excited about this die because I just missed it when it was first released.

High top sneakers are a classic footwear and I updated the look by ink distressing
the shoe in three colors of distress ink: Spiced Marmalade, PIcked Raspberry, and
Wilted Violet. All the other pieces were cut from white card stock and
assembled on the shoe.

The eyelets were a challenge to die cut then adhere to the shoe, but the final
outcome is so realistic, it was totally worth it. I even added shoelaces! I popped
up the shoe, stamped the sentiment and added a strip of patterned paper.
For a bit of texture, I added a few white stars around the shoe.

We hope you love the Vault Release as much as we do and that you'll find
something old or new to add to your inventory. The monthly Vault Release
will only be available for a limited time so grab your favorites before they're gone
for good! Happy shopping!

and both pieces were popped up on a card base.

I stamped the sentiment and added a strip of patterned paper on the bottom.
A couple of stray paint spatters finished off the card.

CAS(E) this Sketch #334

Our team leader Chrissy brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #334.

My CTS teammie Michele enabled me to get the Mega U die after seeing all
of her amazing cards using it. I'm so glad that I finally got a chance to use it on
my loose interpretation of today's sketch.

Altenew's Painted Fantasy washi tape was adhered to white card stock then die cut
with the Mega U Alphabet Die. I embossed a rectangle on a Grout Gray card base
then adhered the U in the middle. The second part of the sentiment was white
embossed and inked with green Distress ink, then trimmed and adhered to the U.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted Chrissy's
sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, August 15th.
Hope to see you in the gallery!
