MFT August Birthday Project Challenge--Gift Cards

Choosing a gift card your recipient will appreciate serves the dual purpose of
easing the stress of shopping and allows the recipient the joy of selecting the
perfect gift As a cardmaker, the presentation is just as thoughtful as the
gift itself. Join our team in sharing creative ideas for housing gift cards
in your card design.

I decided to use MFT's Slider Surprise Die-namics that hides a gift card
and was surprisingly simple to construct thanks to Stephanie's video.

After die-cutting the slider pieces from white card stock, I stenciled a wavy
ocean pattern over it and added a sandy bottom. An assortment of fish were
white embossed and inked with Distress inks then die cut with the matching
Die-namics. The slider panel was assembled behind and the sentiment and "pull"
were stamped on the respective

I pulled on the mechanism and added the gift card inside, using a small glue dot
to keep it in place. The bottom looked a little plain so I added the seaweed and coral,
making sure not to interfere with the slider.

the random winner of a $50 MFT gift voucher. We're looking forward to seeing

CAS(E) this Sketch #335

Former teammie Nathalie brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #335.

And here's my take on it.

Five ric rac strips were cut from white card stock, ink distressed, then adhered
to a card base. The one word sentiment finished off the card.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch for more inspiration from the rest of the team and join us
if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, August 22nd and as the weekly
winner, you'll be invited to guest with us on a future sketch!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #450

Are you ready for this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge?
Here's Sketch #450.

And here's how I interpreted the sketch.

I stenciled a brick background then cut out a wonky stitched rectangle
and adhered it to a gray card base. I popped up the handsome chef, and
finished off the card with the banner sentiment.

of a $50 MFT gift voucher when you enter the challenge. Hope to see you
in the gallery!

MFT August Vault Release Day 2

My second project for the August Vault Release uses the All Star High Top Die-namics.
I was SO excited about this die because I just missed it when it was first released.

High top sneakers are a classic footwear and I updated the look by ink distressing
the shoe in three colors of distress ink: Spiced Marmalade, PIcked Raspberry, and
Wilted Violet. All the other pieces were cut from white card stock and
assembled on the shoe.

The eyelets were a challenge to die cut then adhere to the shoe, but the final
outcome is so realistic, it was totally worth it. I even added shoelaces! I popped
up the shoe, stamped the sentiment and added a strip of patterned paper.
For a bit of texture, I added a few white stars around the shoe.

We hope you love the Vault Release as much as we do and that you'll find
something old or new to add to your inventory. The monthly Vault Release
will only be available for a limited time so grab your favorites before they're gone
for good! Happy shopping!

MFT August Vault Release Day 1

By now you've heard the buzz: MFT is opening up the VAULT!

new twist, or possibly a brand new design you missed from the past. We hope this
month's vault contains something you'll love. Visit today's post at MFT to see

Fresh from the vault is Pure Innocence You Color My World. I missed this cutie
earlier and I'm so glad she's back.

I stamped and colored her with Copic markers then cut her out with the matching
Die-namics. Her "masterpiece" was stamped on white card stock as her canvas,
and both pieces were popped up on a card base.

I stamped the sentiment and added a strip of patterned paper on the bottom.
A couple of stray paint spatters finished off the card.

During the Vault Release, you may purchase new goodies as early as Day 1.
There's no need to wait until tomorrow, you can start shopping NOW!

Thanks for stopping by today. Stop by tomorrow for more ideas and inspiration

CAS(E) this Sketch #334

Our team leader Chrissy brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #334.

My CTS teammie Michele enabled me to get the Mega U die after seeing all
of her amazing cards using it. I'm so glad that I finally got a chance to use it on
my loose interpretation of today's sketch.

Altenew's Painted Fantasy washi tape was adhered to white card stock then die cut
with the Mega U Alphabet Die. I embossed a rectangle on a Grout Gray card base
then adhered the U in the middle. The second part of the sentiment was white
embossed and inked with green Distress ink, then trimmed and adhered to the U.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted Chrissy's
sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, August 15th.
Hope to see you in the gallery!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #449

And here's my take on it. Yay, me, I pretty much stuck to the sketch.

A stitched dome was ink distressed in two colors, spattered with water, then
adhered to a Grout Gray card base. I added the pelican and grounded him with
a few rocks, then finished off with the sentiment.

MFT August 2019 Release and MFT & Friends

It's time! MFT's August Release is now available for purchase. All spankin' new
goodies can be found here in the MFT Store!

It's also time for MFT & Friends when the Creative Team--and friends--share more
ideas and inspiration using the new Release.

SQUIRREL!
Birdie Brown's squirrels are so adorable and fun to color, and I spent a few relaxing
hours coloring most of the images in the set.

Since I had a few extra images, I put them to use on a shadow box card. I used a You Tube
tutorial by Stephanie, based on a card by Torico.

I followed the video exactly as Stephanie explains, and stamped the outside of the box
with Whimsical Woodgrain. The background panel was ink distressed and spattered with
water and the inner "steps" were cut with grassy edges.

After assembling the shadow box and adhering all the pieces, I finished off the box
with the white embossed sentiment

Did you know that these shadow boxes fold flat and fit into an A2 sized envelope?
Gotta love that!

All right, off you go to do some shopping! And today's the day to comment on all
participating Creative Team members' blogs by Thursday, August 8th for a chance
to win one of two $100 MFT gift vouchers! Thanks for stopping by during the Countdown
and Happy Shopping!

MFT August 2019 Release Countdown Day 1

It's the final Countdown Day of My Favorite Things August Release!
All new products will go on sale tomorrow, August 6th at 10AM EST.

Have you ever wanted to thank your favorite nurse or doctor, or both, as a team?
Birdie Brown has you covered with two new sets--Call the Shots and Bedside Manner.
The stamp sets and Die-namics are sold separately, but I've combined them on my card.

Both images were stamped and colored, then cut with the matching Die-namics.
I stamped the smaller images from both sets with Grout Gray ink on a stitched
rectangle panel and adhered it to a Grout Gray Card base.

The nurse was adhered directly to the card and I popped up the doctor with some
dimensional adhesive. The stamped sentiment finished off the card.

I inadvertently colored the images after our daughter's pediatric oncologist and
nurse--Dr. Bob and Linda. Over 30 years ago, they took very good care of her and
they helped us through some trying times as well.

Visit today's Countdown post at My Favorite Things and don't forget to leave a
comment there for a chance to win a $75 prize. Hope to see you here tomorrow
for MFT's Release Day!

MFT August 2019 Release Countdown Day 2

It's two more days until MFT's August Release
Are you ready? Is your shopping list growing longer by the day?

Today I'm sharing a card featuring Best Witches, some sweet witches who flew in
just in time for Halloween.

I stamped a background with purple spatters and trimmed the panel out with
a stitched rectangle die, then adhered it to a Grout Gray card base. The little witch,
cat, and pumpkin were adhered over the spatters.

I stamped the sentiment on a Grout Gray banner and adhered it under the
witch. The card was finished off with green enamel dots.

Visit today's Countdown post at My Favorite Things for more peeks at the new
Release and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win a $75 prize!
