Inspired By Challenge #143 -- Colors of Fall

I'm squeezing in an entry for Inspired By Challenge #143.
I was inspired by both the colors in the photo, and the sketch.

I pulled out Concord & 9th's Layering Leaves and cut them out of
white card stock, then used Copics to color them to match the photo as
best as I could.

I removed some of the leaf petals and left most of them intact. After
adhering them to a card base, I finished off with the stamped sentiment.

I didn't realize how many leaf dies I owned and I'm glad that I found this set
because it fit perfectly for the challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

MFT Color Challenge #150

I rarely enter color challenges but when I saw the latest challenge at MFT,
it was calling me.

Warm fall colors can only mean one thing to me: autumn leaves!
I think I went a little overboard.

I used a discontinued set of MFT leaf dies that are one of my faves. They were
ink distressed in reds, oranges, and green, then spattered with white paint.

I stamped the woodgrain background with Versamark ink on kraft card
stock then adhered the leaves on top. A white embossed sentiment finished
off the card.

It's my dream to see leaves in changing colors. Here in Hawaii, the only
colors we see are green, yellow, and brown. One day....

Thanks for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch #391

CAS(E) this Sketch #391 is a little something from me and it looks like this.

Here's my take on it.

I ink distressed a piece in two colors then trimmed it into two strips per the
sketch. I adhered some leaves, spattered some white paint, then finished off
with the sentiment.

All Kinds of Wonderful

Altenew's Leaf Mix Die Set has so many different designs, I decided to make a slimline card
in a fun rainbow theme.

I chose seven different leaf designs and inked them in rainbow colors. The solid leaf
shape was inked in a darker shade, then the two leaves were adhered together.
A slimline card base was topped with a thin frame and the leaves were adhered on top.

A white embossed sentiment and clear sequins finished off the card.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

CAS(E) this Sketch #390

Our leader Chrissy brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #390.

Truth be told this is my second attempt at the sketch because the first looked a
little blah. Plus, I wanted to use Altenew's Craft a Flower Layering Tulip Dies
that I haven't had time to put together--until now.

I struggled with the layering of the third layer so I just went with two
layers and added highlights with a white colored pencil. The sentiment was
clear embossed on a strip of torn vellum and adhered like a belly band.

sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, Sept 24th and

Inspired By Challenge #141 -- Tweet Tea

http://theseinspiredchallenges.blogspot.com/2020/09/inspired-bytweet-tea.html

I'm joining Inspired By Challenge #141 after seeing the graphic and cards by
the design team. How could I resist? Here's my card, minus the tweet because
I thought my card was busy enough without the bird.

And it was a good chance to hunt for my ancient Spellbinders Reverse
Wonky Rectangle Dies after seeing stamping pal Ivy recently use them
on some cards. This set is about 10 years old and was one of my favorites
to use as a card base.

I die cut two teacups and ink distressed them and cut one out of washi tape
that was adhered to white card stock. I layered the cups and added some
leaves then stamped the sentiment. The two panels are joined with a hinge
and I debossed the die into the panel first to give it a finished edge.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Edited to add: I'm honored that my card was chosen as the winner for the challenge.
Thanks so much to Laurel and the team!

CAS(E) this Sketch #389

It's retro week over at CAS(E) this Sketch. Meet Sketch #389,
formerly Sketch #306.

Here's my take on it back in January 2019.

And here's the 2020 version.

I found a pile of alcohol inked backgrounds and trimmed one to fit a card base.
I die cut the letters from silver glitter card stock and adhered them per the sketch.

sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, Sept 17th
and as the weekly winner you'll be invited to guest with us on a future sketch!

CASology #373 -- SEPTEMBER

https://casology.blogspot.com/2020/09/week-373-september.html

I'm joining CASology's latest challenge with the cue word SEPTEMBER.
I decided to go the autumnal route after spotting this maple leaf in my
stash of die cuts.

It's an oldie from Simon Says Stamp and I may have cut it out from a
"boo boo" piece and just tossed it in the stash pile. I adhered it to a card
base, stamped the sentiment, and rounded off a corner.

I'm so glad the "boo boo" finally found a home.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Inspired By #140 --Tasty Autumn

http://theseinspiredchallenges.blogspot.com/2020/09/inspired-bytasty-autumn.html

I'm joining Inspired By challenge #140 which is all about autumn goodness.
I was inspired by the leaves and the sketch. That, and I couldn't wait to play with
the amazing Leaf Mix by Altenew.

I chose three of the leaf shapes and inked them in gradient colors. After
inking the solid leaf shape in a lighter color, I adhered them together,
slightly off center.

I adhered the leaves and popped up the center one, then gold embossed
the sentiment. Sequins finished off the card.

Hope you're enjoying the long weekend and thanks for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch #388

Teammie Michelle brings us CAS(E) this Sketch #388 and
it looks like this.

And here's my simplified take on it.

I discovered an old embossing folder and embossed it on kraft card stock,
then went over it with white pigment ink. Several Paper Smooches fronds
were die cut and ink distressed, then adhered to the card. A white
embossed sentiment finished off the card.
