Sitting here, thinking of you

http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2020/05/2020-spring-summer-coffee-lovers-blog-hop/

My second and final card for the Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Hop.
My goodness the week just flew by! I thought for sure I'd make several cards
using some of the sponsors' products, too. Did.not.happen.

In the end, I made another card using The Greetery's Cozy Cup set with almost
the same layout, a different color mug and coaster, and an extra sprig thrown in.

I debossed the background with Altenew's Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover Die and
made a kraft cozy coaster. I added a little teal to the sprig and adhered everything
to the card base. The sentiment finished off the card.

And truthfully, I have never had a latté before. I mean, I've had a Starbucks latté.
Just not the fancy schmancy kind with the artsy foam.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Cheers to Amy and her team for another
well organized hop!

CAS(E) this Sketch #374

It's retro week at CAS(E) this Sketch and Sketch #374 (formerly #286)
makes a reappearance in our sketch lineup.

Here's my card from 2018.

Fast forward to 2020 and I have another congratulatory card.

The sentiment was inked in rainbow colors then stacked on top of three
more die cut words.  As luck would have it I found a woodgrain embossed
card base in my stash. I adhered the sentiment then finished off with
some clear flat sequins.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted the
retro sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, June 4th,
and as the weekly winner you'll be invited to guest with us on a future sketch!

Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Hop

The wait is over! It's time for the Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Hop!
The hop is definitely a bright spot in our crafty lives, whether you're a coffee,
tea, or cocoa drinker--or all three!

http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2020/05/2020-spring-summer-coffee-lovers-blog-hop/

I couldn't wait to go through my coffee and tea themed stamps and join the hop.
I've had The Greetery's Cozy Cup set for a while and finally got a chance to ink it up.
My inspiration came from Laurie Willison's card and I told her how much I loved it
and that I would CASE her. And I did!

The set is fun to ink up because of the different layers. I especially love the
detail on the cup's handle--the shading is so cool! The sentiment was stamped on
the coaster, then the cup, spoon, and spring were arranged on top.

Thanks to Amy and her hardworking brew crew, to Laurie for the inspiration,
and to you for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch #373

CAS(E) this Sketch #373 is a little ditty from me and it looks like this.

And here's what I came up with thanks to some ModaScrap papers.

I only wish that I could watercolor but since I can't, it's patterned paper to
the rescue. I cut a piece and ink distressed the edges lightly before adhering
it to a white card base. I added a scrap piece of lavender card stock and
finished off with the stamped sentiment.

We hope you'll find some time to play along with us and keep your creative
juices flowing. Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team
interpreted the sketch and we hope to see you in the gallery.
The deadline to enter is Thursday, May 28th.

CASology Week #368 -- PLANT

The cue word for Week #368 at CASology is PLANT.

https://casology.blogspot.com/2020/05/week-368-plant.html

Truthfully, plants do not thrive under my care, but I do feel comfortable with
stamping them. I recently discovered an Altenew set that I bought a while ago
and decided to finally let it touch some ink.

I stamped the basil plant directly on woodgrain card stock and colored the image
with Copic markers, then stamped the sentiment beneath it. The panel was cut
with a stitched rectangle die and adhered to an aqua card base.

I was planning to leave the card as one layer, but couldn't resist adding the snail
and a glittery trail behind him. It's hard to capture, but here's a closer look.

I hope you're having a great week and thanks so much for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch #372

Our teammie Nathalie brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch.
Meet Sketch #372.

And here's my interpretation of the sketch using ALL dies.

i found the negative die cut sentiment in a scrap stash and inked it with
two colors of Distress inks. I adhered it to a kraft piece and trimmed it out.
Some leafy branches were adhered to the back of the sentiment, then
popped up on a cream card base.  Enamel dots finished off the card.

CAS(E) this Sketch #371

Teammie Brian brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #371.

And here's my take on it.

I substituted the star in the sketch with a Mondo Chrysanthemum that was
watercolored (channeling Lisa Spangler) with Zig markers and a waterbrush.
The mum was popped up on a card base and the sentiment was adhered on top.
Per the sketch, two strips of striped patterned paper were adhered to the card.

sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, May 14th
and as the weekly winner you'll be invited to guest with us on a future sketch!

Elephant Dream

https://www.spellbinderspaperarts.com/whimsical-and-wild-by-jane-davenport/

Here's my second card using stamps from Spellbinders Whimsical and Wild
collection by Jane Davenport, called Elephant Dream.

If you're not familiar with Jane Davenport's style, you'll see that she uses
a TON of color on her projects. I chose to honor her use of color but opted
to lay down color the quickest way that I know--ink distressing.

I added random colors of Distress inks over a watercolor panel then stamped
the image in Versafine Onyx Black ink. I covered the image and spattered
water over the panel.

I was going to take away color with a water brush, but wanted to keep it as
vibrant as possible, so I added some highlights with a white pigment pen.

Check out Jane Davenport's collection at Spellbinders. You'll be glad you did!

Brave Bear

https://www.spellbinderspaperarts.com/brave-bear-clear-stamp-set-from-whimsical-and-wild-collection-by-jane-davenport/

The kind folks at Spellbinders sent me stamps from Jane Davenport's
newest collection: Whimsical and Wild. I chose the set called Brave Bear
and was drawn to the oversized bear with his kind face.

The image was stamped and colored with a combination of Copic markers and
Prismacolor pencils.

I stamped the sentiment and trimmed the piece.  Two colors of ink were sponged
on the card base and the panel was adhered to it.

I'll be sharing another card very soon using another of Jane's fun, whimsical images.
Thanks for stopping by!
