CAS(E) this Sketch #311

Teammie Brian brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #311.

There are so many possibilities with this sketch! Here's my take on it.

The rose background was gold embossed on watercolor card stock and colored
in with daubers using Distress inks. The panel was cut with a stitched square
and adhered to a Grout Gray card base. A gold embossed sentiment and some
small gold sequins finished off the card.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the team interpreted Brian's
sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, March 7th
and as the weekly winner you'll be invited to guest with us on a future sketch!

MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #426

Here's this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge. Meet Sketch #426.

Here's my take on it.

I had a pre-inked panel in my stash that I was planning to use earlier this month.
I trimmed it at an angle and adhered it to a white card base. The negative portion
of the panel was the perfect spot for a lonesome polar bear and sentiment.
I hope he's not sliding...

CAS(E) this Sketch #310 & (Finally!) Winner Announcement

Meet this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #310 from former teammie Nathalie.

And here's my take on it.

I'm not sure if Nathalie purposely placed a "subliminal" image above the stripes,
but I substituted the kitty above colorful rainbow striped paper. The stamped
sentiment and enamel dots finished off the card.

Apologies for the late announcement of the Thyroid Awareness Blog Hop winner.
I had back-to-back trips in early February with a lingering case of bronchitis that
kept me from effectively choosing a winner.

Thanks to random.org, the winner is JO AVERY. Congrats, Jo! I have contacted
you and your prize will be sent out soon.

Thank you to all of you who hopped along with us and hopefully learned a bit more
about thyroid disease awareness and prevention. I certainly did! 😊

MFT February Birthday Project--You're How Old?

Sometimes using a numerical representation of the birthday person's age is to share
in their excitement and sometimes, it’s  to rub it in a bit…in a loving way, of course.
This month, we're challenging you to come up with interesting ways to feature
numbers in your design.

For my project, I'm using the "half century mark" as a fun cake topper.

The Cake Die-namics pieces were cut from white card stock and ink distressed.
I cut an extra cake layer and trimmed it for the top of the cake. The numbers and
cake plate were cut from green card stock.

A panel was cut with the wonky stitched rectangle and all the pieces were adhered
to it. I stamped the sentiment and finished off the card with clear sequins.

MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #425

It's Wednesday, time for a brand new sketch! Here's Sketch #425.

And here's my take on it using the new City Block Die-namics.

Black card stock was trimmed and spattered with white paint to create a
starry night sky.The buildings were inked in rainbow order and adhered
to the card, then finished off with the banner sentiment.

Tag You're It Challenge #81

Tag lovers unite! I'm sure you've heard the news--Tag You're It Challenge is back!
I was thrilled when Tracey invited me back on the team with a new bi-monthly
format and new challenge themes, too.

Challenge #80 started on February 1st and today we bring you Challenge #81.
Here's the inspiration for this week--a color challenge.

The challenge is to incorporate Pantone Color for 2019--Living Coral on your tag.
Here's my tag for the challenge.

I used my favorite Altenew bloom and ink distressed and smooshed Abandoned
Coral over all three pieces. Watercolor Stripes was stenciled over a Neat and Tangled
tag and stamped with the hybrid sentiment.

After flicking some black paint over the tag, I assembled the flower then adhered it,
together with the leaves, to the tag. A hand dyed nylon ribbon threaded through the hole
finished off the tag.

Visit Tag You're it Challenge for more inspiration from the members in Group B
and join us if you can! The deadline for submitting your tag(s) is Wednesday,
February 27th. We hope to see you in the gallery!

CAS(E) this Sketch #309

Chrissy brings us this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #309.

I have to admit to being a bit stumped with this sketch, then I decided to go
graphic with hexagons.

Assorted hexagon shapes were cut from watercolor card stock, inked with
Distress inks and spattered with water. I adhered them to a white card base,
then topped them with the white embossed sentiment and finished
off with a few enamel dots.

sketch and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, Feb 21st.

CAS(E) this Sketch #308

CAS(E) this Sketch #308 is a retro one from CTS creator, Jackie Rockwell.

Here's my take on it back in 2013.

And here's my 2019 take.

I adhered a piece of dotted paper on a white card base, topped it with three
bitty birthday bears and finished off with the stamped sentiment.

MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #423

Here's this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge #423.

And here's my take on it. I used the Heart Trio Shaker Window Die-namics and
turned the sketch to landscape format.

The heart trio was cut twice from watercolor card stock and ink distressed, then
spattered with water. The hearts were inked and popped back in their respective spaces.
Strips of striped patterned paper were adhered to the top and bottom of a white card
base. The ink piece was trimmed on the top and bottom and adhered to the card. The
sentiment was stamped on the card and finished off with clear sequins.

winner of the challenge of a $50 MFT gift voucher! See you in the gallery!

MFT February Release and MFT & Friends

Yes, it's time to shop the My Favorite Things February Release!
All new goodies can be found here in the MFT Store.

It's also time for MFT & Friends, when the Creative Team and guests share
more inspiration and ideas using the new release.

I'll have to confess that I'm in love with the Raccoon Cutie and chose to make a
Valentine card with him.

The raccoon's body and tail were cut from Cement and Gravel Gray card stock,
his eye patches from Grout Gray, and his nose, mouth and eyes from black card
stock. Before assembling, I ink distressed the pieces with gray ink for dimension.

A sentiment was white embossed on a pink heart before being ink distressed with
a darker shade of pink. A panel was dry embossed with a heart background stencil,
then adhered to a white card base.

The raccoon's head and tail were adhered to the card and I opted not to use the
rest of his body since it was going to be hidden by the heart. His paws were wrapped
around the heart and the heart was popped up on the raccoon. I finished off the card
with small pink hearts and a dot of white ink on his eyes brought him to life.

So off you go! And be sure to comment on ALL participating Team Members' blogs
by Thursday, February 7th for a chance to win one of two $100 MFT gift vouchers.
Thanks so much for stopping by during the Countdown, and happy shopping!
