MFT July Release Countdown Day 5

It's time for My Favorite Things July Release Countdown!
There's a birthday theme running through this month's release because MFT
is celebrating 10 years in business! Join us and let's celebrate BIG!

I'm starting off with balloons, using the new Big Balloons Stencil which has five
balloon stencils on one sheet so you have a variety of styles to play with.

I overlapped each balloon and inked them with Distress inks in rainbow order.
I spattered on water and added highlights with a white pigment pen and a white

colored pencil, and I also drew in squiggly balloon strings.

I added the sentiment and a sprinkling of clear sequins. The panel was cut with the
rectangle element from Blueprints 29 and adhered to a Stone Gray card base
that was stamped with Balloon Strings background.

CAS(E) this Sketch 179

Here's CAS(E) this Sketch 179, compliments of Chrissy.

And here's my literal take on it.

Yep, I went with the obvious--a wreath. I inked up LJD Spring Wreath with

Distress inks, spritzed with water, then stamped it on watercolor card stock,
offsetting it slightly a second time. Flowers were inked the same way, and cut
with the matching dies. I dotted the centers of each flower with a Copic marker,
then adhered them to the wreath.

The panel was cut with the rectangle element from Blueprints 29, and adhered 

to a Grout Gray card base. Stamping the sentiment finished off the card.

MFT Creative Construction with Blueprints--A Stitch in Time

For this month's Creative Construction with Blueprints Challenge, participating
Creative Team members are sharing projects using stitched elements from
our line of Blueprints. I love the stitching detail on dies, especially the
Blueprints that have stitched frames that you can use as compartments.

I chose to work with the stitched frame from Blueprints 29 as shelves for
 some potted succulents. I first stamped Bundles of Blossoms with Grout Gray
ink on white card stock. The frame was cut twice from Grout Gray card stock
and layered for dimension.

Assorted succulents and pots were gold embossed and colored with Peerless
watercolors, then die cut with the matching dies. I assembled them in the
frames and finished off the card with the sentiment.

Virginia's View Challenge #22--All About Colors

 

Followers of Virginia's View Challenge are so excited that she's back

and running her popular challenges this summer! I'm super thrilled to be

a guest for Challenge #22--All About Colors--and I've created two cards

to share with you today.

Both cards use the same background stamp--My Favorite Things' Bundles of

Blossoms Background--colored with different coloring mediums.

 

After white embossing the stamp on watercolor card stock, I used Zig Clean Color

brush markers to brush on colors in rainbow order, then blended them with 

a water brush. After it was dried, I cut a panel with a stitched rectangle die,

and adhered it to a cream card base.

The "thanks" was die cut three times from black card stock and glued

together to form a thick sentiment. The rest of the sentiment was white

embossed and trimmed to a banner strip. The sentiment was adhered to

the panel, and the card was finished off with some clear sequins.

 

For my second card, I white embossed the stamp on water color card stock

and ink distressed in rainbow fashion, fading off towards the top.

A bit of water was spattered over the surface, and cut with a stitched

rectangle die after it was dried.

The two part sentiment was die cut three times and glued together to form 

a thicker sentiment, then adhered to the panel. Once again, the card was

finished off with some clear sequins.
