AEI♥U Challenge #8--Father's Day/Masculine

Here's the latest AEI♥U Challenge:

Create a masculine card or a card with a Father's Day theme

using at least one Avery Elle stamp. And if you don't own any Avery Elle stamps,
feel free to use a digital one here. The prize for the challenge is
an Avery Elle stamp set of your choice!

I used sentiments from The Man and the technique from a recent Papertrey Ink
Make It Monday shared by Heather Nichols. The dot stamp is from Bright Days.

CASual Fridays 132--What a Catch

CASual Fridays 132 is WHAT A CATCH--create a clean and simple masculine project.
Oh, and here's the catch: use RIBBON and absolutely NO KRAFT.

Here's my card.

All the flag sentiments are from CASual Fridays' RAD. I stamped each word
on grosgrain ribbon with Archival Black ink, and I was pleasantly surprised
how crisp it turned out with no feathering or bleeding.
The banner was then attached to a woodgrain embossed card. 

Oh, and see that striped ribbon? It's six years old! It's from Cosmo Cricket's
Jack's World series and I can't believe that I'm only using it now.....in 2014.

CAS(E) this Sketch 78

Here's CAS(E) this Sketch 78 brought to you by Julie.

And here's my take on it. I went totally rogue and flipped the sketch.

I inked up the Paper Smooches chevron in three distress inks, spritzed it with water

then stamped on watercolor paper. Twice. The sentiment is a hybrid from

Paper Smooches and Winnie & Walter.

As a finishing touch, I added coordinating colors of enamel dots.

I may do another take on the sketch in the "correct" version. Stay tuned!

CAS(E) this Sketch 77--Take Two and Three

I'm popping in to share a couple more cards using CAS(E) this Sketch 77.

 

Yes, I went literal again. And used watercolored dots again.

On the first card, I added some Delicata Gold dots for a bit of shimmer.

The sentiment is a discontinued one from Technique Tuesday.

On the second card, I added some gold sequins.

The dymo label sentiment is from Neat and Tangled.

I think this sketch lends itself to cards for all occasions.

And I really must try it with other shapes.
