Online Card Classes--Stenciled

I'm way behind in completing "homework" for Stenciled,
the latest Online Card Class that went by way too quickly for me. 
There was so much inspiration from the designers, but not enough hours in a day!



Truthfully, I bought some embossing paste but haven't opened them up yet. Why?
Because I think I'm either going to:
 a) make a total mess that will freak out my OCD hubby or 
b) fall in love with it and start embossing everything in sight.

So here's my very first stenciled card using  just ink and an applicator.
No paste was involved.


Jennifer McGuire reminded us that distress ink stays wet for a while
so I poured on some clear embossing powder which gave it some texture.
Just a bit but not enough to make it too bumpy to stamp over.
 

And do you see that awesome sentiment? It's a new one from Winnie and Walter
called The Big, The Bold, and The Happy. I just love the mixed fonts!

    What a cool idea to add the powder and this card is stunning. I love the bright pink and how the edge smudges off, and the big sentiment works perfectly.

    I am choosing "B" as my answer to the above!!! Oh you will LOVE embossing paste, and it's actually not as messy as you'd think! Your husband will never know ;) !! Gorgeous card, Donna and I LOVE those Winnie and Walter stamps too - I didn't even know you could buy them yet!!! Well, it looks like I'm going shopping...again!!     Wonderful card, Donna! I finally bought some stencils and embossing paste .. the mess stays pretty much confined, but I am not getting jaw dropping results!!     Send DH out for a few hours then you can make as much mess as you want for a while! Love the embossed Distress Ink - not tried that yet.

    Love your cards, I adore stencils and I am doing the Stenciled class in a week or so. I couldn't join when it was live :( but I love the Online Card Classes. Cx

    Way to Go on your first homework assignment, Donna! I adore the hot pink with your black sentiment...it's so striking! I think you're going to love playing with embossing paste, too...hubby will see that it's not that much of a mess, and with your design style, it's gonna look fab!

    Love this one...big time! I'm filing it away for inspiration. :) Love the lighter and darker shades of pink you created and adding the slight texture with the powder is brilliant. Though I will miss you showcasing all the AE products each release and throughout the month, I'm happy with your change as I assume it will be a better fit for you right now.

    This is amazing! I really want to try out some stencils & embossing paste....you've got me inspired! And I just used that stamp set on my latest card too....it is such an amazing set, isn't it?! Perfect for heat embossing!!

    Donna, I have been meaning to get back to you on this incredibly awesome (or rad as it has a great updated 80's vibe) card! It is simply stunning and I love your use of the stencil and ink to create such a dramatic background. Of course your use of The Big, the Bold, and the Happy stamp set is stellar!
