MFT September Release Countdown Day 5

Welcome to My Favorite Things September Release Countdown!
This month, there's something for everyone, from cute to trendy and
everything in between. Let's get started with the countdown!

Day 5 starts off with Geometric Greenery, a trendy set of leaves by
Lisa Johnson Designs, with matching dies sold separately.

I started off by stamping Etched Tribal Background with white pigment ink
on Biscotti card stock. I chose one leaf and white embossed it several times
on watercolor card stock, then used ink daubers to add color to them with
Distress inks.

They were die cut with the matching dies and adhered to the card base,
popping up the center leaf for a bit of interest. The sentiment was white
embossed on a strip of brown card stock and popped up beneath the leaves.
I finished off with "faux enamel dots" courtesy of Nuvo Crystal Drops.

My Favorite Things now carries Nuvo Crystal Drops in the MFT store
and I love that I can make my own enamel dots in assorted colors and
sizes. I still haven't found the perfect storage system for them yet,
because they tend to stick together once they're dried.

for a chance to win a prize!

  1. Gorgeous card. Love the colors. Why don't you make the enamel dots on small pieces of plastic sheet and then store them in parchment paper envelopes? I use this trick to store quilled flowers and it works very well.

  11. Such a lovely design, and so 'You', Donna! Love how you inked the leaves, and your enamel dots are fabulous!
I was thinking of storing mine flat in a box with waxed paper in between. If that doesn't work, I'll just make them for each card as I go along..it is quite a dilemma for us enamel dot fans :)

  16. Your card is simple and beautiful. I am so drawn to clean and simple cards. I think I will start collecting those Nuvo drops, and if I were making them, I would use acetate strips and store them on the strips that way. I just love enamel dots, they add so much to a card.
