MFT + Chibitronics Collaboration Day 2

My Favorite Things is teaming up with Chibitronics® creating fun, interactive
projects with unique "light up" features. We were all given a kit to play with and
I have to admit, I was a bit apprehensive because science was not my
strongest subject in school.

But the handbook that's included in the starter kit guides you through
creating a simple circuit or a more complex one, and you can have as little as
one light, to multiple ones. I decided to go with one light, and here's my card.

I ink distressed a watercolor panel to resemble a night sky and die cut
a star and placed some vellum behind it. I stamped, colored, and die cut
the bunny and placed him on an oval shadow. The sentiment was silver embossed.

So the finished card looks ordinary on its own, but when you press the bunny's tummy...

...the make a wish star totally lights up!

Here's a look at how I connected the battery to the lights, via copper tape.
If you heard some screaming, that was me when it actually worked. Even my
husband was impressed! And I know it sounds cliché, but if I can do it, anyone can!

Visit today's post at My Favorite Things to see how the other designers lit up
their cards and leave a comment there for a chance to win a Chibi Lights Kit!

  1. Cute card! How many lights are in the Chibi Light Starter Kit? Does the battery come with the kit? If not, what type of battery does it use and where did you get yours? I may need to contact my cuz Battery Bill at Mapunapuna Industrial area in Moanalua for bulk order...haha
Hope your Ohana did NOT eat at Genki Sushi! My Ohana sent me emails on the Hepatitis A ourbreak on Oahu and Kauai. What a coincidence...read article on NOT consuming anything from China, Vietnam, and Philippines just before the outbreak in HI! Read product in question at Genki Sushi was from Philippines! Yikes! Stay Well and Healthy! HUGS! <3

  5. Wow, you designed such a cute card with the Chibitronics. Love how you have the star lighting up. I guess it is time to watch the two videos on the MFT blog. I didn't look watch it yesterday because while all the cards were cute I thought it looked to complicated for me (science was my least favorite subject in school). I'll watch and see if I can tackle something like this. :(

BTW, light or no light I love your card with the Snuggle Bunnies. It's one of my favorite sets. The night time scene is so pretty.
