CAS(E) this Sketch 30

Note: Please scroll down or click here for Avery Elle's June Release Blog Hop. Thank you!

Here's this week's sketch by Karolyn Loncon.

And here's my no-stamping-all-patterned-paper take on the sketch.

I was going through a pad of Yes, Please patterned papers
when I came across a page of small tags.

I chose three tags, trimmed fish tails and adhered them to kraft card stock.
I cut a strip of wood grain patterned paper and attached it to the top of the flags.
No sentiment was necessary since there are "words to live by"
on two of the flags.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch for all the details and to see how the rest of the team
interpreted this fun sketch and play along with us.

Thanks, always, for stopping by!

I hope you arrived here from the fabulous blog of JJ Bolton. If not, start at
Avery Elle and continue the hop so you won't miss a drop of inspiration
from my super talented teammates!

Avery Elle is turning ONE YEAR OLD in June--a very special month for us--
and we'll be hosting fun activities on the blog throughout the month.
We are so excited to celebrate with you and we hope you'll join us!

To kick off the festivities, every stamp order placed through Avery Elle
between now and June 30, will receive our Party Animal mini set FREE!
Limit one set per customer.

Today my cards feature
Ikat Additions, a mini set of smaller ikat images
that work with Ikat Clear Photopolymer Stamps or on their own.

My first card uses the small "V" shaped image, stamped diagonally
like arrowheads along with the sentiment from The Man Clear Photopolymer Stamps.
I used Delicata Golden Glitz pigment ink that is just so gorgeous, it doesn't need any embossing.
The yummy brown cardstock is one of the new colors for the month--Truffle.

My next two cards feature a non traditional way of using ikat--as flowers.
I thought two of the images looked like flowers and stems so I inked them up
in various ink colors and stamped them on smaller A1 sized cards.
Both sentiments are from a NEW stamp set being released in mid June.

To celebrate our June Release Blog Hop, Avery Elle is giving away a $25 gift certificate
to one winner. You have until Sunday, June 2nd to enter, and the winner

Happy Birthday, Ardyth!

Today I'm joining a ton of well wishers in a SURPRISE birthday party
for the Queen of CAS: Ardyth Percy-Robb.

Darnell Knauss asked us to create a birthday card, and to CASE one of Ardyth's cards,
if we could. I went through her blog several times over, and it's not easy to create
an Ardyth card but I think I nailed it, thanks to color blocking.

Here is Ardyth's card that I chose to CASE. And here's my card.

I chose Ardyth's "personal preference" size of a 4.25" square
and masked the stripes and sponged them
in three colors of Distress and Shadow inks.

I was stumped with the sentiment as I didn't have a simple HAPPY BIRTHDAY
in the perfect font or size to fit each row of color.
So this is the best I could do, but I think Ardyth would approve.

If you'd like to join in and wish Ardyth a Happy Birthday, link your
birthday card here at Darnell's blog.

Happy Birthday, Ardyth! Enjoy your day and have a fabulous year!

Fusion Card Challenge--Hypothesis #8

This is my entry for the latest Fusion Card Challenge and
once again I'm going with Lesley's inspiration photo.

I don't remember exactly what I did to get these results
but I did use Avery Elle's Petals & Stems Clear Photopolymer stamps
and a bunch of Distress inks.

Some flowers were inked and misted with water, some were sprayed
with a lot of water, and some were just stamped straight on watercolor paper.

My hubby's one word reaction: "Whoa!"
And I think I found the perfect sentiment to go with it.

Thanks for stopping by today!
