Playing With Paper

The latest Online Card Class is Pattern Play. Jennifer McGuire, Kristina Werner
and friends are sharing tips and techniques for getting the most
out of patterned paper for card making.

I am a closet paperholic. Here is proof.

I counted the number of paper pads that I currently own.
134. And that was a rough count.
And there are a few straggler pads that missed the count.

Here is my card after Day 1's lesson. You may laugh.

I struggled to find the perfect papers to work with.
I think it's because I have too much paper.
Hopefully Days 2 through 8 will get easier.

You can still sign up for classes here and have lifetime access
to the lessons and materials.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope to see you in class!

  2. 134! That's AWESOME. You are amazing.
And I love your card, especially the little strip of hearts along the bottom.
Cute way to use up lots of paper bits.

  4. I'm laughing, but not at your card, Donna - that photo of your paper pads makes me feel better about the amount I have! :) Love the pretty mix of patterns and soft colors on your card!

  8. You made me feel so much better!! I keep collecting 6x6 pads (which, by the way, does not keep me from collecting 12x12 or 8x8) and not using them regularly! Happy to not be alone... :-)

Love the card, by the way-- fantastic adaptation! Looking forward to seeing more of yours!

  11. I think your card is fabulous. By adding the yellow and red strips on the bottom, you really picked up the pattern paper flowers and added such a wonderful visual boundary. Great design elements along with your fun pattern paper choices!

  20. Donna why would you think we'd laugh! This card is superb. I love what you have created. Don't worry about the paper "hoarding" I have similar problems with 12 x 12" pieces I have one Christmas piece from 5 years ago!

  23. OK, you've totally beat me on pattern paper packs! Love that you shared that picture! And I TOTALLY agree that when I'm overwhelmed with choices it takes me sooo much longer to create. Give me a ton of parameters and I'm good. I really love what you ended up with though!

  24. Can you hear me laughing? I so totally get where you're coming from (though I can't keep up with 134). Love this card. I love Amber's idea to die cut letters from the bold pattern.

  25. Well, you've taken the first step and admitted you have a problem! What I find ironic is that you rarely used patterned paper on the cards you make!! I think I may have twenty 6x6 pads and I donated all my 12x12 pads to the elementary school last year! Oh, I do have 10 drawers full of 12x12 paper .. how does this happen?? But I love your card Donna! you can do anything!!

  26. Holly Molly that's a lot of Paper....
I hate to Admit my stack is rather large too and I have not been using it!!
Sadly the two pads you gave me have gotten lots of use with Class and I hope to get better at using PP! :)
    LOVE your card too....xoxoxo
